October 2015 – Mari returned from her time in Samoa.  We asked Mari to tell us a little about what she got up to, this is what Mari had to say:

“I was fortunate to have the opportunity to represent Wales at the Commonwealth Youth Games held in Samoa at the end of September, 2015.  The competition came at the end of a long summer of training!!. The journey was an exhausting marathon: two days of flying which meant that I lost a day of my life in the process!”

“Having reached Samoa, we received a warm welcome and being able to compete against fellow teenagers from across the world was an amazing experience.”

“Despite the fact that there were only 10 members of the Welsh team (which included weightlifters, tennis players and an archer) we managed to win seven medals.”

‘How did you do Mari?':  I managed to win a bronze and a silver in the relay races.”

“I would like to thank my coach Bron Hill and Gwynedd Council for their kind support.”
